Notice of Email Security Enhancement: SPF Enforcement

August 04, 2023

At Lookafter, we prioritize the security and privacy of our users’ information. As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen email security, we are implementing a crucial update to our email filtering system.

Starting from August 7, 2023, we will be enhancing our email security measures by strictly enforcing SPF (Sender Policy Framework) checks on all incoming emails. SPF is an email validation protocol designed to detect and prevent email spoofing, ensuring that emails are sent from legitimate sources and reducing the risk of phishing and spam.

What does this mean for you?

If an incoming email fails the SPF check, it will be flagged as spam by our system. These flagged emails will be moved to your junk folder, reducing the chances of potential malicious content reaching your inbox.

We understand that flagged emails may occasionally come from legitimate senders who fail the SPF check. To ensure that emails from known senders land directly in your inbox, we recommend whitelisting trusted sender email addresses or domains on your Global Email Rules. By whitelisting a sender, you can authorize our system to bypass the SPF check for emails coming from that specific sender.

Guide: How to whitelist a sender using Global Email Rules

We strongly advise senders to configure their domain’s SPF records correctly to ensure seamless email communication. Properly setting up SPF records will verify the legitimacy of sent emails, preventing them from being marked as spam.
