Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

As a provider of website hosting and other Internet-related services, Lookafter IT Sdn Bhd ("We", "Our", "Us", "Lookafter") is committed to providing services at a standard of excellence in accordance with best practices in the industry.

As We value ourselves as a responsible hosting provider, We strongly discourages irresponsible practices, which degrade the usability of network resources and the value of Internet services. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") specifies the actions considered abusive and prohibited by Lookater.

Lookafter reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time, effective upon posting of the updated version to this web page. By using any of Lookafter products and services ("Services"), you agree to comply with Our AUP. Failure to comply with the AUP may result in account suspension or termination without prior notice. Lookafter will remain the sole arbiter in what constitutes a breach of Our AUP.

SPAM (UNSOLICITED MAIL)

Lookafter has zero-tolerance spam policy. You must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. You are prohibited from sending mass unsolicited email messages (Spam) or unsolicited commercial emails (UCE). All emails sent to recipients who have not Confirmed Opt-In to mailings from you will be considered as UCE. Your use and sending of mass emails must at all times maintain complete and accurate records of all consents and opt-ins. We will consider the mass mailing to be unsolicited if you cannot provide actual and verifiable proof of such consents and opt-ins.

Lookafter prohibits the following activities without limitation hereunder:

  • Transmit or disseminate of spam and UCE messages through Lookafter network or systems.
  • Transmit spam/UCE messages using third-party proxy, aggregation of proxy lists, or proxy mailing software installation.
  • Alter source IP address information, or forge email headers or other identifying information, including the domain name.
  • Send or attempt to send email messages or transmit any electronic communications using fake name or email address.
  • Use Lookafter network and systems to receive replies to spam/UCE messages.
  • Configure mail server to accept and process third-party emails for sending with no user identification and/or authentication.
  • Host any web pages advertised via "spam e-mail" sent from another network.
  • Host any web pages or provide any services that support spam.
  • Use the Services to sell contact lists or send email to any purchased lists.
  • Use weblog posts, chat room messages, guestbook entries, HTTP referrer log entries, usenet posts, pop-ups, instant messages or text/SMS messages to send, post or transmit unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Advocate any activities that are prohibited by this AUP.

Any user account who causes or results in Our server's IP address being blacklisted by any spam organizations, including but not limited to SpamHaus, SpamCop or Barracuda, will be immediately suspended or terminated. We reserve the right to assess a fee ranging from RM200 to RM1,000 upon such user, which shall serve to compensate Us for increased administration costs and expenses of redressing the spam-related activity. You agree that in the event We determine that you have deliberately or recklessly engaged in spam activity, We may assess the fee entirely at Our discretion.

ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES

You agree not to use Lookafter systems and Services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by this AUP, and you agree to comply with any applicable local, provincial, federal and international laws, government rules or requirements. Lookafter reserves the right to suspend or terminate Services, in its sole discretion, if you are using the Services, in association with spam or morally objectionable activities including, but not limited to:

  • Any activities designed to defame, embarrass, harm, abuse, threaten, slander or harass third parties.
  • Transmission, distribution, storage or publishing of any material that is obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory.
  • Transmission, distribution, storage or publishing of any content that promotes sexually explicit material, violence, any illegal activities or any form of discrimination.
  • Transmission, distribution, storage or publishing of any content that contains viruses, worms, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots, or any other harmful or deleterious programs.
  • Transmission, distribution, storage or publishing of any content that contains Warez and any pirated content or tools.
  • Transmission, distribution, storage or publishing of any material in violation of any applicable law.
  • Misrepresenting or fraudulently representing the Services.
  • Impersonating the identity of a third party.
  • Illegal access to other computers or network (i.e. hacking).
  • Activities that causes interference or disruption of any part of Our website, system, networks or Services.
  • Denial of service attacks, port scans or other endangering and invasive procedures against Lookafter servers and facilities or the servers and facilities of other network hosts or Internet users.
  • Activities that infringes any copyright or trade mark of any other person.
  • Activities that advocates, promotes or assists any unlawful act.

SHARED HOSTING SERVER RESOURCE USAGE

Shared hosting servers are shared among multiple customers, hosting their websites and other email or storage services. In order to provide uninterrupted service to all Our customers, We do not allow customers to abuse shared resources.

Shared hosting customer may not use more than 20% of single core CPU (with 128 MB RAM, burstable to 512 MB) for longer than 60 seconds at a time. This includes but not limited to CPU cycles, RAM usage, disk space and bandwidth. If the customer overuses the allocated shared resources, the customer's account will be suspended for 24 hours. If the account repeatedly causes server overload, Lookafter reserves the right to terminate the customer's account permanently or impose an overload penalty fees to the customer.

All shared email hosting plans are set with sending limit of 200 emails per hour and 1000 emails per day. This policy is required to prevent spamming activities either deliberate or through poorly secured devices that are hacked for sending spamming emails. Shared email hosting plan customers who want to send more than 1000 emails per day may subscribe to Our dedicated outgoing SMTP service. For more details, please contact Our sales team.

Lookafter prohibits customers from running bit torrent application, tracker or client that may abuse Our system. Customers are allowed to provide link to legal torrents on their website, but are not allowed to host them on Lookafter shared hosting servers.

DEDICATED SMTP SERVICE USAGE

Dedicated Outgoing SMTP Service utilizes a dedicated IP for email delivery. The sending limit for this service is 10,000 emails per day.

VIRTUAL PRIVATE SERVER RESOURCE USAGE

The use of traffic (bandwidth) and disk space of Virtual Private Server (VPS) is limited in accordance with the VPS type. Additional traffic, disk space and/or RAM are subject to charges.

AUP BREACHES

Lookafter reserves the right to disable or terminate Services and/or to remove content to investigate suspected breach of this AUP. Lookafter will attempt to notify the customer of any violation whenever possible and work with them to resolve any abuse problems. Failure to respond to Us may result in the suspension or termination of Services. If cases are critical, such as they are affecting the entire operation, Lookafter reserves the right to disable or terminate Services without prior notice. If the explanation or solution is accepted, the customer will be given a warning and/or will be incurred an abuse fees. Unresolved abuse or AUP matters that are not responded within 14 days will be considered abandoned and will be deleted.
