WordPress Maintenance Service T&C

This Website Maintenance Service Terms & Conditions Agreement ("Agreement") contains the complete set of terms that govern your subscription of Lookafter’s WordPress Maintenance Service ("Services") that Lookafter IT Sdn Bhd ("Lookafter") provides.

Please read these this Agreement carefully. Any purchase or use of Services implies that you have read and accepted the terms as specified in this Agreement, in addition to Lookafter Universal Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.


In order to use the Services, you are required to host your website with Lookafter designated hosting platform. This requirement ensures optimal compatibility and seamless communication between our Services and your hosting environment. By hosting your website on our platform, you enable us to deliver efficient updates, security enhancements, and performance optimization tailored to our system's specifications.


If your website is currently hosted at a third party platform, then you are required to transfer or migrate your website to Lookafter platform in order to use the Services. You have the option to migrate the website to our platform yourself. It is important to note that Lookafter does not provide support or assistance for the migration process. By performing the migration yourself, you assume full responsibility for ensuring that the migration is completed accurately and without issues. This includes data transfer, configuration adjustments, and any potential complications that may arise during or after the migration.

Optionally, we offer a website migration service at a one-time service charge. This charge is a one-time fee and is separate from the ongoing subscription fee for the Services.


WordPress Core, Theme and Plugin Updates

Updates to the WordPress core, active theme, and plugins are typically performed on a monthly basis. In some cases, circumstances may necessitate more frequent updates. If our team becomes aware of specific security threats or vulnerabilities that could impact your website's security or performance, we may perform additional updates within a month.

Security Enhancements

We implement security measures to protect your website from potential threats. This includes but not limited to WordPress security hardening, regular security audits, SSL integration, and hourly security screening of key files within your website.

Performance Optimization

We apply strategies to optimize the speed and overall performance of your website. This includes but not limited to cache implementation, refining WordPress setup, and database optimization.

Website Backup

We perform daily backups of your website files and database. The backup process is scheduled to run once a day, capturing your website's files and database at that specific moment. The backup includes your website's core files, theme files, plugin files, media assets, and the content stored in your database.

Website Restore

When required, we provide website restoration services utilizing the backup copies. The frequency of website restores allowed is determined by the specific plan you have subscribed. By opting for our Services, you acknowledge and accept that exceeding the allowable frequency of website restores may incur additional charges or may be subject to the terms outlined in your chosen plan.

Malware and Hack Clean-up

In case malware is detected, we will initiate a systematic removal process to eliminate malicious code, scripts, or any other unauthorized elements that might be affecting your website's security and performance. If any data or content has been compromised during a security incident, we will restore your website's content to its previous state using the latest available backup.

Email Support

You have access to our email support for inquiries, assistance, and guidance related to our maintenance services.


  • Creation, update or removal of content within the website, including text, images, and media.
  • Changes related to website design, redesign, or major visual overhauls.
  • Updates to commercial, licensed, or custom themes or plugins.
  • Troubleshooting or debugging of issues arising from licensed or custom themes or plugins.
  • Custom coding, development of new features, or significant modifications to your website's functionality.
  • E-Commerce setup, configuration and management, including product listings, payment gateways, and transaction management.
  • Integrations with third-party platforms, tools, or APIs.
  • Search engine optimization (SEO) services, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building.
  • Website migration services, including assistance with self-migration or addressing issues arising from self-migration.
  • Copywriting services.
  • Content translations.
  • User training, guidance, or tutorials for managing your website's content or functionality.
  • Liaisons with third-party services or developers.
  • Any services not listed in the SERVICES INCLUDED section of this Agreement.


You agree to pay Lookafter all fees as billed in accordance with the terms specified in this Agreement. Prior to the commencement of any Services, full amount of the specified fees must be remit to Lookafter. Services will not be initiated until full payment is received and processed. You further agree that, in the event that you choose to terminate this Agreement, no refunds shall be granted under any circumstances.


You agree that each plan subscription for our Services is applicable to a single website only. WordPress installations located in subfolders are considered distinct websites and are treated as separate subscriptions. If you have multiple WordPress installations, including those in subfolders, each installation requires its own individual subscription to our Services.


While we are committed to providing the Services for your website, it is important to recognize that there are certain factors beyond our control that we cannot guarantee.

  • We provide our Services on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not offer any explicit or implied warranties.
  • We do not guarantee specific performance levels for your website, including page loading times, uptime, or search engine rankings.
  • We do not provide a warranty that our Services will be error-free or uninterrupted, nor do we guarantee specific website functionality.
  • While we implement security measures to safeguard your website, we do not provide a warranty against all potential security threats or breaches.
  • While we prioritize keeping your WordPress core, themes, and plugins up to date, we cannot always guarantee seamless updates to the latest versions. This is due to the possibility of conflicts arising between different plugins or between plugins and themes. Compatibility issues might lead to unexpected errors, malfunctions, or compromised performance. In cases where updates to the WordPress core, themes, or plugins result in compatibility problems, it might be necessary to revert to an older version that maintains functionality until a compatible update becomes available.
  • We cannot guarantee that the latest releases of the WordPress core, themes, and plugins will be entirely free of bugs or issues. The responsibility for software development and testing lies with the respective developers of the WordPress core, themes, and plugins. Our role is to provide timely updates to keep your website secure and functional, but we cannot control the development and quality assurance processes of external software providers.
  • Although we perform regular backups, we do not provide a warranty against data loss or corruption.
  • While we provide malware clean-up services, we cannot guarantee a complete restoration of the website to its exact pre-malware state. As malware attack might cause data corruption or loss, it is possible that some data, content, or functionality may not be fully recoverable.
  • We disclaim any liability for damages, losses, or disruptions resulting from the use or inability to use our Services.
  • We are not liable for any direct or indirect damages, losses, or expenses incurred as a result of using our Services.
  • We are not responsible for the performance, availability, or compatibility of third-party services, plugins, themes, or integrations used in conjunction with our Services.
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or content of materials displayed on your website.
  • We disclaim liability for any user conduct or interactions occurring on your website.
  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes, results, or impacts on website performance, user engagement, or business success.


By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You have reviewed and understood the services offered as part of the Services. Any decision to sign up for the Services is based on your informed understanding of the benefits and limitations.
  • It is your responsibility for maintaining valid licenses for themes and plugins, and you understand that we do not update themes or plugins with expired licenses.
  • If you choose to migrate your website independently, you understand that we do not provide support for the migration process, and you assume full responsibility for its success.
  • All tasks associated with the Services are scheduled at our discretion and aligned with our operational schedule. We follow a structured process and workflow that effectively maintains websites for a wide range of clients. All tasks and requests are addressed impartially and prioritized on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Any modifications, alterations, or changes made to your website by third parties, including yourself, are beyond our responsibility. We cannot be held accountable for the outcomes or consequences of such actions, including any impact on the functionality, design, or security of your website.
  • Our Services are designed to optimize and secure your website, but we cannot be held liable for third-party plugins that may encounter issues as a result of our Services. While we strive for seamless integration, the behaviour and compatibility of third-party plugins are subject to their developers' updates and changes.
  • We do not assume responsibility for rectifying design issues or other defects present on your website prior to utilizing our Services. Any website design or structural issues existing before our engagement will not be addressed as part of the Services.
  • You agree to collaborate with us in the event of update-related issues, providing necessary information and preferences to help resolve problems effectively.
  • These terms and conditions may be updated periodically, and it is your responsibility to review and accept any changes before continuing to use our Services.


You have the right to terminate our Services at any time by providing written notice. In the event of termination, you understand that no refunds will be provided for any remaining service period. We reserve the right to terminate the Services if there is a breach of these terms and conditions, misuse of our Services, or any activity that poses a risk to our infrastructure, reputation, or legal compliance.

Upon termination of the Services, we will promptly cease all maintenance activities and access to our Services. Your website and associated data will remain your responsibility, and we are not liable for any data loss or other issues that may arise following termination.
